Wine Review: This opaque and deep ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Patrimony is excellent! It opens with a red currant and pencil shavings bouquet with hints of moist pipe tobacco, saddle leather, and sage. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, silky smooth, elegant, and graceful. The flavor profile is a complex blend of stewed black plum and graphite along with notes of black currant and espresso. We also detected hints of black pepper, loam, nutmeg, and a touch of dark chocolate covered blueberry at the very end. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would decant this Cab Franc for quite a while before serving it with a well-marbled ribeye steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2021 Patrimony Cabernet Franc displays a luscious dark purple-red hue with fruit-driven aromas of boysenberry and black cherry pie, all interwoven with alluring accents of black pepper, charred meat, sage, tobacco, and sweet oak. A full-bodied palate delivers flavors of muddled berries, mocha, and Cajun spices across a canvas of fresh acidity, while well-rounded tannins bring staying power to a beautifully balanced finish. A wine that reveals the staggering potential of Cabernet Franc from the Patrimony Estate.
