Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Owen Roe opens with a mild black cherry bouquet with hints of dark chocolate, damp earth and dark coffee. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well-balanced, gentle and smooth. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced red plum with notes of gentle vanilla oak. We also detected hints of strawberry licorice and black cherry. The finish is dry and its flavors and polished tannins fade away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with coq au vin.
