Wine Review: This pitch black colored Syrah from Owen Roe opens with a blackberry bouquet with hints of boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and very savory. The flavor profile is a mineral infused black currant and espresso blend with notes of oak. I also detected hints of black licorice, blueberry and black cherry. The finish is dry and its flavors linger, while its mild tannins are nicely prolonged. This Syrah would pair well with Yankee pot roast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of blackberries, vanilla, and dark-roasted coffee beans jump out of the glass with a touch of sweet oak. The palate is silky and concentrated with a brilliant spicy finish and chewy tannins. Drink now through 2025+.
