Wine Review: This pale yellow Chilean white blend from Oveja Negra opens with an inviting tropical bouquet of cantaloupe, melon, pear and mild wet stone. It is a light bodied wine that is a unique blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Carmenere. It displays lemon and lime flavors that are round and slightly tart with notes of green peppers and hints of light herbs and acidity. The finish is slightly dry and some tangy grapefruit and orange flavors show up in the end. I would pair this wine with a scallop casserole with cream and Ritz crackers. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: The 2014 vintage, on the nose, shows the Carmenere's strong herbal character alongside the Sauvignon Blanc's citrus profile. The very present and refreshing acidity is balanced by the fruit components. With a soft, rich texture this wine displays a dry, vibrant finish.
