Wine Review: This dark brick red colored blend from Oveja Negra opens with a pleasing blackberry bouquet which includes hints of cedar, mint and light plum. The palate is light bodied, slightly dry and displays black cherries, light tannins and a touch of spice. This combination of Malbec and Petit Verdot provides the wine with good balance and structure. The wine finishes with a smooth and extended dry finish. I would pair this Chilean good value red with a shepherd's pie. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: Deep purple with a crimson hue in color, this Malbec Petit Verdot is tremendously aromatic. It offers notes of violets that lead to black fruits such as blueberries and blackberries intermingling with the fruity aromas. The Malbec lends juiciness and sweet tannins to the palate, while the Petit Verdot contributes black fruit flavors and a tannic backbone, providing structure to the elegant finish.
