Wine Review: This dark red colored Mataro from Contra Costa County opens with a mild strawberry bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, soft and approachable. The flavor profile is a mild plum and cherry blend with hints of oak and strawberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins drift away nicely. This Mataro is very good, friendly and versatile. I would pair it with veal medallions with a mushroom and shallot brown sauce. Enjoy - Ken
