Wine Review: This dark red colored Mataro from Joel Peterson opens with a fragrant cranberry and pomegranate bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very fruit forward and lush. The flavor profile is a ripe red plum and mild mineral blend with notes of red raspberry. I also detected some hints of strawberry Twizzler, oak and tea in the background. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and flavor drift away nicely. This very nice Mataro should be paired with a pork tenderloin with sage and fig. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The smoky, soft cherry, plum flavors are well developed and full, with the acid perfectly balanced and the tannins soft and round.
