Wine Review: This almost clear colored Chardonnay opens with a pear and mild vanilla oak bouquet with a hint of banana. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and nicely balanced between its acidity and fruit. The flavor profile is a tasty gentle oak and pear blend with hints of minerality and vanilla. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Chard is very food friendly and went perfectly with my cream of crab soup with lump crab and sherry and the panko encrusted lobster mac n' cheese at Pairing Bistro in Bel Air, Maryland.
Winemaker Notes: 446 Chardonnay exhibits appealing aromas of golden delicious apples, pineapple and apricots. Medium bodied with a creamy mid-palate, this delightful wine offers flavors of peach and hints of toasty vanilla spice. Enjoy it on its own, or with soft cheeses, roast fowl and baked yams.
