Wine Review: This Chard was my favorite 2007 Nickel and Nickel single vineyard Chard offering. It is pale yellow colored and opens with an inviting light oak and mild lemon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and a little creamy. The flavor profile is a mild oak infused green apple and pear blend. The finish is dry and subtle, yet refreshing. I would pair this Chard with chicken ravioli with a wild mushroom cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromatics from the 2007 Searby Chardonnay jump from the glass with honeysuckle and citrus notes that bring the wine to life. The Muscat and passion fruit flavors, which are the signature of this clone, blend nicely with the lemon-lime acidity. The combination of fruit and acidity are quite refreshing and, coupled with the rich French oak, it creates a wine that is lively and persistent.
