Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet opens with a mild leather and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a cedar infused red currant with notes of blueberry. It finishes is quite dry and its big tannins build up for quite a while and linger for some time. This impressive Cabernet would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 State Ranch shows an intriguing combination of fruit and spice. Cranberry and berry flavors intertwine with earth and cigar, and the toasty component from the oak complements the fruit and adds an intriguing layer. This vintage also has a rich structure, more typical of a hillside Cabernet. This intense expression will allow this wine to age beautifully.
