Wine Review: This midnight purple colored blend from Mount Peak is a big boy wine. It opens with a black licorice and blackberry bouquet with hints of oak, bay leaf and eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and lush. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry, black licorice and black currant blend with notes of refined minerality, blueberry and oak with a hint of cinnamon stick at the very end. The finish is dry and its tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. This wine will benefit from decanting and needs the fat of a well-marbled ribeye. The other option is to sip it on a cool night by the firepit. That is what our mini-tasting group did. Enjoy - Ken
