Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Malbec from Merriam opens a boysenberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of musty fresh tilled earth. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and bright for a Malbec. The flavor profile is black plum and toasted coconut blend with notes of black cherry and cedar. We also picked up some hints of stony minerality and red raspberry tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity and faint gentle tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Malbec with barbecue Brazilian picanha steak, lamb stew, or with beef brisket. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Bursting with aromas of fig, black plum, violets, and vanilla bean, this dry full-bodied red is intoxicating. Elderberry, dried florals, and herbs sit nicely on the palate complemented by smooth tannins on the finish.
