Wine Review: This Cab Franc from Merriam is consistently one of Peter's best wines. This vintage is opaque and dark ruby colored and opens with a fragrant black raspberry bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, well balanced, fruit forward and rich. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild black raspberry and plum blend with nicely integrated delicate oak and just a touch of black pepper. The finish is dry and its fine tannins make it very food friendly and approachable. I would pair this very good Cab Franc with veal scallopini in the near term. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This sixth bottling of Jones Vineyard appears dark purple with a ruby rim. At first scent, notes of dusty ripe blueberry, exotic spices and wild flower with hints of eucalyptus and vanilla. A broad palate of chocolate, light flavors of strawberry with notes of blueberry and cassis. Soft, lovely tannins, crisp aciditywith notes of apple, spice and vanilla. Served with chocolate dessert, this is a real crowd pleaser.
