Wine Review: This clear and medium garnet colored Pinot Noir from Merriam opens with a blackberry pie and cherry-cola bouquet with faint hints of dried black raspberries, old leather books and cardamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a tasty blackberry, mocha, and gentle oak blend with notes of red plum. We also detected some hints of Christmas spice, dried strawberry, and rhubarb in the mix. The finish is dry, and it flavors and well-managed fine tannins drift away nicely. Right out of the bottle wine, this wine is rich enough to enjoy with a Peking duck. If you decant it for a bit, you can pair it with a roast turkey with sausage, chestnut, and common cracker stuffing. Enjoy – Ken, Dave & Mark
Winemaker Notes: This medium bodied, deep ruby colored wine showcases notes of boysenberry, blueberry pie, and fresh fennel on the nose. These notes linger on the palate, with the addition of dark plum and thyme which are complemented by structured tannin and a dry finish.
