Wine Review: This ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rockpile opens with a fig and red currant bouquet with hints of red plum. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round and juicy. The flavor profile is a red plum and red currant blend with notes of fine stony minerality. I also detected some hints of cedar and cranberry towards the end. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins and flavors are nicely prolonged. This Cab benefits from some aeration, so decant it, before pairing it with a grilled Colorado lamb chop. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A stunning ruby colored wine with a lush fruit forward nose of black cherry, boysenberry, and dark plum with underlining notes of rosemary and a hint of honeycomb. Classic notes of macerated berries, bell pepper, and crushed stone follow on the palate.
