Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored Merlot opens with a tart cherry bouquet with hints of orange and red plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is similar to the nose featuring slightly tart black cherry with notes orange and flinty minerality. I also detected hints of oak, bay leaf and red plum in the background. The finish is dry and its flavors and subtle tannins drift away. This Merlot continues to open up nicely on day two. It is food friendly and would pair well with a juicy mushroom and Swiss burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Merlot has a beautiful purple garnet color. Deep dark fruit on the nose that translates to your palate. Blackberry, fig, Bing cherry with hints of earthy spice. Very structured tannins balance out the fruit. There is nothing better than a long fruity finish and this wine has it. Enjoy now or lay it down for a few years.
