Wine Review: This light yellow colored and full malo Chardonnay is my favorite Chardonnay that Merriam has made so far. It opens with a musty oak and Bartlett pear like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and rich. The flavor profile is an oak infused Bosc pear with nicely integrated oak with hints of honey and almond. The finish is dry and pleasant. This with would pair perfectly with Umbria’s chicken and wild mushroom ravioli smothered in a brown butter cream sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Light straw in color, with crisp stone fruit, floral notes of peach, pear and apricot on the nose. Thick and viscous mouth-feel with tropical fruit of mango and kiwi.
