Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Merriam is terrific. It opens with an attractive blueberry and acai berry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is a delicious fruit bomb. It is medium bodied, juicy, round and fruit forward. The flavors profile is a Maine blueberry pie with notes of nicely integrated vanilla oak. I also detected hints of boysenberry as well. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and flavors are nicely prolonged. This wine would be perfect by the fireplace this winter with some sharp hard cheese and stone wheat crackers. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Great extraction, brilliant color with light purple hues on the edge. Floral expressions of violet, cranberry, spice, strawberry and warm berry pie. On the palate a hint of mulled blackberry and black raspberry, blackberry sorbet and a hint of chocolate ice cream. Medium "elegant" tannins, youthful acidity with notes of vanilla, winter spices and cherry cola. Enjoy!
