Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington State opens with a red currant and craisin bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy going. The flavor profile is red fruit lead, featuring plum and currant. I also detected hints of black cherry-cola and light oak. I also noted that its tannins crept into the palate and also lingered for a while on the finish. I would decant this wine in the near term and pair it with a juicy Angus burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of ripe blueberries and blackberry jam are highlighted by barrel spices of cocoa and espresso. The ripe fruit flavors carry through in the palate with a light touch of acidity. Sleek tannins lead into dusty tannins on the finish. Pair with chuck steak or roasted duck.
