Wine Review: This dark red colored Merlot based blend from Washington State opens with a mild vanilla oak and Bing cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, very smooth and almost creamy. The flavor profile is a very tasty black cherry and oak blend with notes of blueberry. I also detected hints of coffee and plum. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger along with its moderate tannins that are also rather sticky. I would pair with wine with a rib roast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The powerful Merlot is evident in this blend, which opens with aromas of ripe blueberries wrapped in the warmth of caramel and coffee. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot create a frame of structure, while the Malbec adds suppleness, weight and length. This rich wine is full of intriguing complexity built around sleek tannins that lead into a finish that goes on and on. Pair with a rack of lamb.
