Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Merlot opens with a mild plum and blueberry bouquet with a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, this wine medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a tart stewed plum, oak and mineral blend with hints of black tea, pomegranate, and strawberry. The finish features chewy and slightly astringent tannins that stick around for a very long time. This would pair well with fatty foods in the near term. I would decant it and pair it with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: As most of our customers know, Meeker Handprint is a big Merlot, featuring tannic, spicy cherry flavors and a strong backbone. This is a Cabernet-drinker's Merlot.
