Wine Review: This pale straw colored Sauvignon Blanc opens with a very fragrant gooseberry and yellow grapefruit bouquet with hints of asparagus, lime zest and honeydew melon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The flavor profile is a stone dust, yellow grapefruit, and lime blend with notes of asparagus, nectarine pit and passion fruit. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and flavors are very nicely extended. I would pair this flavorful Sauvignon Blanc with grilled swordfish steaks. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Mauritson Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc embodies our core philosophy: Wine is made in the vineyard! This wine sees minimal oak and doesn’t go through malolactic conversion. It's truly one of the purest expressions of Sauvignon Blanc you will find in California. Enticing perfumed aromas include fresh white pineapple, spicy white Magnolia blossom and crushed river stone, with a hint of candied mandarin. The entry is bright, energetic, and very inviting. On the palate, cleansing kaffir lime zest gives the wine focus, while a kiss of mango flesh and candied peach carries the round and refreshing lift on the finish.
