Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and pale straw colored Colombard based wine from Martha Stoumen is very impressive! It opens with a green apple and lemongrass bouquet with hints of anise and almond. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, viscous, seamless, and rich. The flavor profile is a white peach and mild honeydew melon blend with notes of lime and green apple. I also detected hints of almond and unripe pineapple. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for quite a while. I would pair this white blend with pan-seared Chilean sea bass. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: If there ever was a wine with the softness and structure of a Hepworth piece, it’s Honeymoon. This vintage offers seamless structure and lively aromas of light white florals and lemon curd. Expect integrated acidity and a layered texture. If drinking now, this white benefits from a decanting (or simply open ~an hour before drinking). This wine will also deepen after another year or two of bottle age. Pair with roasted chicken, meaty oysters, or something with morels.
