Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and pale yellow colored Colombard and Chardonnay blend opens with a very fragrant honeysuckle and chai tea bouquet with hints of ripe honeydew melon. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, super smooth, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is a green apple and pineapple blend with notes of chalky minerality and lemon. We also detected hints of quince, white peach, and chai tea. The finish is refreshing and lingers for quite some time. This wine would pair well with chicken piccata. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The star of our Honeymoon is the 70+ year-old Colombard from the dry-farmed, head-trained vines at Ricetti Vineyard. Honeymoon 2022 features dry-farmed, organic Chardonnay from nearby Hawkeye Ranch. If there ever was a wine with the softness and structure of a Hepworth sculpture, its Honeymoon. This vintage offers seamless structure with a subtle surprise, like the first pop rock on your tongue or watching the last of the firework show sparkle into darkness. Expect integrated acidity and a dappled finish like a luminous warm embrace.
