Wine Review: This terrific wine is sourced from two of the family's sustainably farmed vineyards in the Russian River Valley. It is a deep ruby purple color and opens with a savory and complex bouquet of dark cherry, oak, leather, graphite and vanilla caramel. It is lush and juicy, full bodied with firm tannins. There are flavors of blackberry, dark cherry, smoky bacon, oak and black tea. There are smooth tannins that linger in the finish. This Pinot would go well with a roasted duck breast with cherry sauce. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: How can something be so delicate and bold at the same time? The color, deep ruby, purple in hue. The nose? Black fruits and graphite, with hints of oak spice from French oak. Silky and supple, with fleshy red fruit and dare I say it, a touch of bacon fat. The tannins are firm and the finish lingers.
