Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Malbec from the Campo Los Andes region of Mendoza is very good. It opens with a fragrant blackberry bouquet with notes of licorice and stewed plum. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and lush for a Malbec. The flavor profile is a graphite and stewed plum blend with notes of blackberry, cherry and black licorice. I also detected hints of black tea and cocoa powder. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a very long time. This wine certainly over-delivers for its price point. This is a bolder style of Malbec, so I would let it breath for a bit. Then I would pair it with braised short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
