Wine Review: This all around good value Cabernet Sauvignon is dark purple in color and opens with an inviting earthy blackberry, green bell pepper and black pepper bouquet. I also detected some herbal notes. The palate is medium bodied and juicy with jammy blackberry and plum flavors. I also noted hints of chocolate mixed in. The finish is pleasantly dry with black cherry flavors appearing and soft and smooth tannins present. It's a real crowd pleaser. I would pair this value-priced California Cabernet with marinated steak tips. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Leaping Horse Cabernet Sauvignon boasts deep red purple hues and flavors of black currant and cherry, with hints of blueberry jam, eucalyptus and mint, as well as vanilla and coffee notes. It’s smooth and rich and very approachable now. Serve at room temperature with hearty stews or barbecued red meats, or rich chocolate desserts.
