Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Lazy Creek is pretty fruit forward. It opens with a red beet and pomegranate bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, savory and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe black raspberry with notes of plum. I also detected hints of cranberry, minerality, oak, black pepper and cinnamon. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This Pinot would pair well with a duck breast with a pomegranate-citrus glaze. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Lazy Creek Middleridge Ranch Pinot Noir seduces with a perfume nose of sweet cherry, caramel, vanilla and licorice. Mouthwatering, juicy flavors of plum, pomegranate and black cherry fade slightly to reveal ripe, red currants on the mid-palate with persistent cola and spice on the finish. The Lazy Creek Vineyards Middleridge Ranch Pinot Noir is a seductive, aromatic wine that pairs well with salmon and meat entrées such as beef bourguignon or rack of lamb.
