Wine Review: This well-priced Pinot Noir for Lafond is a very good value. It is slightly opaque and dark ruby colored. It opens with a mild cherry and cinnamon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, a little acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a cinnamon spiced black plum with notes of red currant, craisin and tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity are nicely prolonged. This Pinot would pair well a charcuterie platter and Great Hill blue cheese with fig spread on a French baguette. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine benefits greatly from about an hour of decanting to allow the concentrated aromatic and flavor profiles to fully open up. The complexity of flavor found in this wine is a wonderful match with savory foods, grilled salmon, or mushrooms.
