Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Pinot opens with a cola and black raspberry like bouquet, with hints of earth and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, juicy and easy going. The flavor profile is ripe plum with notes of black raspberry and gentle vanilla oak with a hint of cola and black pepper. The finish is dry its mild tannins fade away nicely. This Pinot has enough fruit for strong foods and finesse for sharp cheese. As a result, I would pair it with a bacon and extra sharp cheddar mac n’ cheese casserole or an herb encrusted rack of lamb. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The complexity of flavor found in Pinot Noir from Lafond Vineyard is a wonderful match with savory foods and a classic with grilled salmon or mushrooms.
