Wine Review: This India ink colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Krupp Brothers opens with a black currant and mild cedar like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused black currant with notes of oak. I also detected hints of black olive, black licorice and black cherry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are dusty and sticky. This Cab would show best if swirled and served with a ribeye steak in the next couple of years. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Inky black in color, with aromatic complexity and fantastic varietal character. Layers of ripe boysenberry, cassis, cocoa, caramel and toasted French oak lift from the glass. The palate is massive yet flush, round, and full of flavors consisting of ripe black cherry, dark chocolate, blackberry and well integrated caramelized oak. The finish is long, rich, and lasts for over 60 seconds! This M5 is truly a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Dr. Krupp’s favorite block in the hills of Stagecoach Vineyard. Drink now through 2028.
