Wine Review: This opaque and very dark midnight blue colored Cab based blend is terrific. It opens with a very fragrant blackberry bouquet with hints of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very nicely balanced, and concentrated. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry with notes of wonderfully integrated oak and minerality. I also detected hints of faint black olive and a touch of yellow pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are rather sticky and linger for quite some time. I would pair this gem with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The second vintage of this blend from Vina Koyle is an intense purple color, with a core of crushed plum, white pepper, and graphite notes. It has a velvety mouthfeel, a firm base of right-grained tannins and a density, purity and length that shows the harmony of the five varieties blended to create this wine. While it will drink well shortly after release, Koyle AUMA can be cellared for up to ten years.
