Wine Review: This deep golden yellow colored Chardonnay from Knight Bridge opens with a pineapple, Anjou pear and oak bouquet with hints of lemon curd, chalk and toasted brioche. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced round and lush. The flavor profile is a light lemon and crème fraiche blend with notes of almond and mild oak. We also detected hints of salted caramel, vanilla and faint pineapple towards the very end. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away. We would pair this food friendly and very nice Chard with Gibbet Hill’s crispy potato-crusted cod with sweet corn and bacon chowder or lobster mac and cheese. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Precision and freshness define the aromas of chilled Anjou pear, French pastry dough, and orange blossom honey. Bracing and racy flavors of Asian pear, honey, and white tea are all supported by underlying minerality. Try pairing this poised and elegant wine with roasted chicken, grilled halibut with lemon and rosemary, or chilled salmon with dill and crème fraîche.
