Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Knights Bridge opens with a fragrant oak and pineapple bouquet with a hint of ginger. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, soft and round. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced golden delicious apple and oak blend with notes of nutmeg and spice. I also detected hints of ginger and butterscotch. The finish is rather dry and its flavors fade away nicely. The oak on this Chard develops more as this wine opens up on day two. So be sure to swirl it a bit upon opening. It is a food friendly wine and would pair well with seafood gratin. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2018 vintage is a wine of opulence and energy, with compelling aromas of quince, Meyer lemon, and golden apple, accented by a whiff of honeycomb. Full flavors of warm, spiced apple and toasty vanilla are followed by a long, plush finish with mineral notes. Our West Block Chardonnay works well with baked halibut with sauce verte.
