Wine Review: This almost clear colored dry-styled Riesling from down under, opens with a Anjou pear bouquet with hints of quinine and lime. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, lively and very mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a tart green apple and green pear with lots of integrated minerality. I also detected some white pepper and ginger. It was quite complex. The finish is dry and its mouthwatering acidity and flavors stick around for a while. This wine would pair with oysters and sushi. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Mort's Reserve sets the internal benchmark for the best Kilikanoon Riesling cuvee of the vintage. The result is a wine of brilliant clarity, almost translucent in color with subtle green tints. An intensely focused nose, uplifted and aromatic, delicate and sensual. Overt and flavorsome, yet surprisingly restrained, the palate combines fresh citrus zing, lemon lime depth and tightly wound natural acidity that all comes together in a persistent and satisfying finish.
