Wine Review: This opaque and almost black colored Shiraz from Kilikanoon opens with a very aromatic and fragrant ripe blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich, and extracted. The flavor profile is an oak infused ripe blackberry and black currant blend with notes of anise in the background. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a little sticky. This manly Shiraz would pair well with slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense brick red in color with youthful crimson hues, the 2008 Killerman’s Run Shiraz has rich notes of plums and dark chocolate that overwhelm the nose, supported by spicy oak char. The palate is beautifully rounded and flavored. Sweet plum fruits and chocolate characters carry over from the nose, with spicy oak notes and gentle tannins lending length and complexity. This wine has both power and finesse that showcases the appeal of Australian Shiraz - richly fruit driven, balanced and powerful.
