Wine Review: This goldenrod colored late harvest dessert wine from Kanu is made mostly from Chenin Blanc. It opens with an intense ripe pear and mango like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and viscous. It displays sweet dark rum soaked ripe pear flavors with notes of toasted oak flavors and clover honey as well. The finish was sweet, showed a hint of heat, but overall was subtle. The panel thought this offering was a perfect match for pecan pie or with soft cheeses. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Luscious flavors of dried apricot, pineapple, mango, honey, and almond unfold on the palate of this dazzling Chenin Blanc-based dessert nectar. It’s decadently rich and full-bodied, yet zesty notes of ginger and spice and a lively jolt of acidity keep it light on the palate. Pair this exotic elixir with foie gras, soft or bleu cheeses, creme caramel, and apple or pear fruit-based desserts.
