Wine Review: This bright red colored Schiava based wine is well made. It opens with cherry and red plum bouquet with hints of black olives. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a slightly sour red cherry with nicely integrate old oak. I also detected hints of tart plum. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle tannins fade away nice. This wine is food friendly and would pair nicely with a pork chop. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Brilliant, deep ruby red. Fruit dominant nose reminiscent of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, with a hint of bitter almonds. Full, soft structure, pleasant, elegant tannins give the wine length. Finishes with a lingering echo of ripe fruit. This wine is ideal as an aperitif, an accompaniment to appetizers, or with sausage, but also to lighter meats and mild cheeses.
