Wine Review: This slightly translucent purple colored Pinot Noir from Jamieson Ranch is a very good value if you like a bold style of Pinot Noir. It opens with a plasticine, oak and sweet black raspberry bouquet with hints of wintergreen. On the palate, it is medium bodied, smooth and rich with a velvety texture. Not your typical Pinot as its bold flavors exceed the body. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced juicy black plum with hints of dark berries. While it has simple structure, it is an easy to drink and crowd pleasing "dark" Pinot. At its price point it will be popular even if varietally incorrect. I would pair it with a French dip sandwich. Enjoy - Rick
Winemaker Notes: Intriguing notes of red fruit, plum and black cherry mingle. Allspice and cinnamon combine with touches of oak and vanilla, which lead to a graceful finish. Medium in body, this wine possesses supple acidity and mellow tannins. This Pinot can be paired with a range of meals. It is especially delightful with poultry, pork and seafood.
