Wine Review: The J Vineyards “Bin 1008” is a golden straw color with medium/big sized bubbles. Vanilla, baked apples, cinnamon, and hints of lychee fruits can be picked up on the nose. The “Bin 1008” has plenty of weight and flavors. Unlike some sparklers that are faint and the flavors come and go as fast as the bubbles, the flavors in the “Bin 1008” linger and sit on your palate. You can pick up notes of baked apple pie, caramel, mango, and pineapple. The slightly tart finish is necessary to keep this sparkler in check. Another fine offering from J Vineyards. The “Bin 1008” is best served with lobster and butter. - Nicolay

Winemaker Notes: The small percentage of brandy in the dosage gives this Russian River Valley sparkling wine an edgy, viscous feeling in the mouth. Complex flavors and aromas abound, including baked brioche and nutmeg spice. The palate is smooth and creamy featuring notes of Baldwin heirloom apples, Bosc pears and zesty lemon peel, all leading to an elegant finish.
