Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Russian River opens with a plum and red currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty spiced plum with notes of old oak. I also detected hints of strawberry toward the end. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Pinot would pair well with broiled salmon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 J Vineyards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a well-balanced, food-friendly wine with bright berry flavors – red cherry, raspberry and blackberry – with hints of licorice and red zinger tea on the finish. The aromas of wild strawberries and spices delight the nose. This approachable wine pairs well with mushroom risotto, cedar plank salmon and Bouillabaisse seafood stew.
