Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay opens with a musty mild apple bouquet with a faint hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a mild butterscotch and pear blend with notes of integrated oak. I also detected a hint of minerality and bit of apple in the background. The finish is dry and flavors linger nicely. This Chardonnay would pair well with lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2012 J Russian River Valley Chardonnay is a racy, succulent wine with ripe aromas of pear and vanilla delight the nose. A spicy minerality and crisp acidity balance the flavors of vibrant Mandarin orange and lemon zest in the mouth. This is a versatile, succulent food wine, pairing well with a pan seared halibut in beurre blanc sauce. A simple butter and lemon caper sauce served over shrimp scampi is another delicious pairing.
