Wine Review: This ruby colored Russian River Pinot Noir from J opens with a with a fruit forward boysenberry bouquet with hints of blackberry. On the palate this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black plum with notes of mild oak with hints of black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair well with grilled salmon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2011 J Vineyards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a lush, ruby-red wine that vibrantly showcases firm, food-friendly acidity and plenty of black fruit flavors. Aromas of dark plum, orange peel, pepper and smokiness fill the glass. The wine delivers flavors of vanilla, black currant, black tea leaves and a kiss of earthiness to pair well with foods such as wild mushroom risotto, cedar plank salmon and duck confit.
