Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay from J Vineyards opens with a pleasant mild apple bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and elegant. The flavor profile is a mild Bosc pear with nicely integrated vanilla oak and touch of lemon. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely after the wine is gone. This Chard is very food friendly and would pair well chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Distinctive toasty oak nuances meld elegantly with a hint of butterscotch. Apple flavors and a spicy vanilla characteristic are enhanced through a rich mouthfeel and right acidity. The 2010 STRATA is a superb "bridge" wine for many salads, including a Cobb salad, or a spinach salad lightly sprinkled with goat cheese and roasted pecans. Try it with a baked halibut that has been basted with this wine.
