Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay is very impressive and finished in second place in our big blind tasting. It opens with a mild vanilla oak bouquet with hints of green apple, pineapple and butterscotch. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, and displays the classic creaminess that you find in the best California Chards. The flavor profile is a very tasty Bosc pear and cashew blend with notes of banana, spice, and gentle oak. It's a pretty complex Chard. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested, this this Chard would be fine on its own. However, you could also serve it with rainbow trout sauteed in butter or shrimp scampi. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2010 J Vineyards Russian River Valley Chardonnay is a combination of old world minimalism and new world verve. Notes of refined lemon and toasty vanilla dance on the nose, highlighted by a bright acidity. There is a spicy mineral characteristic that is in balance with vibrant butterscotch and honey flavors. Our Chardonnay is a versatile food wine, pairing well with many entrees, such as creamy pasta, roasted pork, grilled fish, or baked poultry.
