Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Pinot Noir from Oregon opens with a pomegranate and craisin bouquet with hints of black raspberry and forest floor. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, delicate, velvety, and savory. The flavor profile is tasty red plum and crushed stone blend with notes of black tea, and craisin. We also picked up some hints of red beet, pine resin, and sage. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with a German Jagerschnitzel (hunter schnitzel with mushroom gravy) or with veal milanese. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Appassionata bottling is a special selection of a few extraordinary barrels of Pinot Noir, aged and released only when we believe it is ready to drink. This cuvée is dense and powerful with continued structure yet retains an Old-World elegance and finesse. It shows off the magic transformation that only comes from bottle age. Only 240 6-packs were produced from three barrels of Abbey Ridge Vineyard and two barrels of Bella Vida Vineyard.
