Wine Review: I found this slightly opaque dark ruby colored wine to be very intriguing. It opens with a fragrant menthol, red currant, and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a spicy ripe black raspberry with notes of concentrated black cherry with a hint of cranberry and black currant. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins stick around for quite sometime. Now comes the intriguing part. This wine was much softer on day two. So decant it in the near term if you like a softer style. It will also be interesting to see how this wine evolves with time. There is plenty of fruit and tannins for the long haul. In the meantime, this fruit bomb will really appeal to Zin fans with a rack of barbecue ribs off the grill. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: "The wine opens up with rich vibrant aromas of ripe plums and dark stone fruits. A velvety palate of black cherries, cassis and hints of smoke delicately structure this full bodied wine. The mid palate, highlighted by bright acidity, showcases fresh berry components. Intense flavors of chocolate and cherry cola create a long pleasant lingering finish. Drink now or be pleasantly surprised with aging." —Leslie Sisneros
