Wine Review: This white gold colored Chardonnay from Napa is very good. It opens with a fragrant apple bouquet with notes of pineapple and a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and flavorful. Those flavors are a gentle oak infused green apple with hints of beer, Bosc pear and white pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors show very nice length. I would pair this yummy Chard with sherry infused lobster bisque. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2012 Chardonnay hails from Rancho Sarco Vineyard in Napa's southern Coombsville AVA as well as Star Vineyard in Rutherford. Notes of honey, tropical fruit, citrus, and orange blossom fill the glass and are accompanied by light barrel vanilla, melon, white peach and caramel on the palate. Stylish and complex, this well-balanced wine shows good volume and weight and has a fantastic length of finish punctuated by bright acidity. We fermented our 2012 Chard entirely with native yeast to promote exotic flavor and aromatic profiles. Drink now through 2016.
