Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Merlot from Napa opens with a fragrant boysenberry with hints of blackberry and gentle oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a ripe black raspberry with notes of currant, black pepper and touch of oak. The finish is dry and its substantial tannins are big for a Merlot. I would swirl this wine a lot and serve with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This bottling shows warm aromatics of cherry, plum, barrel vanillin and baking spice. Possessing great balance on the palate and polish, the 2011 Merlot is full of fruit supported by silky tannins. It offers a lingering aftertaste reminiscent of chocolate-dipped cherries. This is a winner from start to finish and will have the skeptics proclaiming, "Yes, I am a Merlot convert!!!"
