Wine Review: This midnight blue colored Cabernet from Napa is a fruit bomb. It opens with a fragrant blackberry, cassis and oak like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry with notes of cedar. I also detected some hints of craisin, minerality, espresso and dark chocolate mixed in. The finish is dry and it moderate tannins and flavors stick around for quite a while. This Cab has some guts and lots of flavor for the vintage. It will stand out in a crowd of 2011 California Cabs. I would pair it with it with a rack of messy Memphis styled ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2011 vintage of our Napa Cabernet Sauvignon shows deep, deep purple color and if that doesn’t instantly draw you to the glass, the nose will. Aromas of allspice, nutmeg, hints of cola, berry and warm toasted oak leap into the air. This wine shows great balance with an easy entry that fans out on the mid palate with fine tannins, bright cherry, dried currant.
